Automated Blood Sampling & Automated In-Vivo Sampling is a technique more humane for the animals, following the guidelines of the 3Rs Refine, Reduce, Replace. This organization is created to spread the word to researchers all over the world.

The ABS-technique can be used by anyone now taking manual blood samples and/or starting up new trials.
Areas of use are for example DMPK, Safety Pharmacology, Toxicology and Biomarker studies.
The DiLab® AccuSampler® was one of the first instruments designed for Automated Blood Sampling.

Every time a blood sample is needed the ABS-technique can be applied. Advantages with the technique is that the animal can move freely in a stress-free environment. The systems can take blood samples both at day and night without being monitored and fewer animals are needed.
